Maiden Voyage of the Redfish Trawler

I have spent a great deal of time and effort in an attempt to make the river kayak suitable for paddling in rough, bay surf, in hopes of landing some tasty fish.  All effort was wasted this week as I sunk the boat in a grassy marsh a few hundred yards up-river from the bay.  I learned a great deal, hopefully to prepare me for the next bay venture.

  1. Glad to see you still kicking the tires man! Hope you are finding what you aren’t searching for too!

If you travel through Dothan on the way through Alabama, you can park here, got plenty of room.

  2. Dude, I don’t think that kayak is the right size for you. No offense, but the Solara 100 is for kids and tiny people. Hahahaha!

    1. You are correct. As soon as the salesman saw me struggling in the boat (they have a nice pond in back of the store in Idaho) he tried to switch me to a bigger one. I have learned to love it now, but still wish I had a bigger boat sometimes…….except when it comes time to sling it back on top of the bus.
